Starlink.com/Activate Login: How to Set Up or Link Your Account

When I activated my Starlink kit, I was not sure whether I needed to create a completely new account or connect the kit to my existing Starlink account. The activation page makes this easier by letting you choose New Account or Existing Account after entering your Starlink identifier.

Steps to Set Up or Link Your Starlink Account

1. Open Starlink.com/Activate

Go to the official Starlink activation page. You will see fields for your Starlink Identifier and email address. Starlink recommends using the Starlink app during setup, but the online activation option is also available.

2. Enter Your Starlink Identifier

Enter the identifier associated with your Starlink hardware.

For a retail kit, the Kit ID can be found on the kit packaging or shipping label. If your Starlink is already connected, the Terminal ID can also be found through the Starlink app under Settings → Advanced → STARLINK.

3. Enter Your Email Address

Enter the email address you want associated with the Starlink account. Check that it is correct before continuing because this will be used for account communication.

4. Choose “New Account” or “Existing Account”

This is the important step.

Choose New Account if you are new to Starlink and want to create an account for the kit.

Choose Existing Account if you already have a Starlink account and want to add the new kit to it. Starlink confirms that an additional Starlink can be activated through the activation page by selecting Existing Account.

5. Enter Your Service Address

Provide the address where you will use the Starlink service. Make sure the country selected on the Starlink website matches the country used to register your account. A country mismatch can prevent activation.

6. Select Your Service Plan

Choose an available plan for your location. Plan availability can depend on network capacity.

If your area is capacity-limited, Standard or Priority activation may not be available, and Starlink may offer a Roam option instead.

7. Add Contact and Billing Information

Enter the requested contact and payment details. Review the information carefully before submitting your activation.

8. Click “Place Order”

After reviewing your account, address, plan, and billing details, select Place Order. Starlink states that completing this step activates the service and that the service statement will generate automatically every 30 days.

9. Check Your Starlink Account

After activation, sign in to your Starlink account and check your service line and subscription details. If you added a second Starlink to an existing account, Starlink says the new kit is normally added as a new service line rather than changing your existing subscription.

10. What If the Login or Activation Does Not Work?

If you receive an Invalid Device ID message, check the Starlink identifier carefully and enter it again. If the identifier is correct but the error continues, Starlink recommends contacting Support.

Also check that the kit is not already assigned to another account. Starlink does not activate hardware that is currently assigned to an existing account.

Final Thoughts

The Starlink.com/Activate process is mainly about connecting your hardware to the correct account. Enter your Starlink identifier and email first, then select New Account if you are starting with Starlink or Existing Account if you already have an account. From there, enter your service address, choose a plan, add billing details, and place the order to complete activation.
